Joe Magnarelli / Lookin' Up!

Everything is "Lookin' Up!" when trumpet player extraordinaire Joe Magnarelli steps back on the scene with this 2014 album, his first for Posi-Tone. This hard hitting session also features the inspired playing of Steve Davis on trombone, the cool comping of Anthony Wonsey on piano, the steady underpinning of Mike Karn on bass, and the bombastic metrics of Jason Brown on drums. While the song selections are definitely straight ahead, the music is elegantly lyrical and brilliantly evocative of a more modern jazz sensibility. With an amazing combination of talent, brilliant performances, and an exciting program of music, including several amazing new original compositions, Joe Magnarelli's latest record "Lookin' Up!" is sure to bring bright moments to jazz fans everywhere
